Introduction to Crochet (Week 3)

What You'll Learn: Join us for this fun, practical introduction to crochet! You'll leave with new skills, finished projects, and the confidence to continue crafting on your own.  Each week’s  project is designed to be completed during class time with minimal homework.

Week 3 (October 16) Cozy Infinity Cowl , Short Cowl, or Long Scarf

During this class, students will learn the following skills: double crochet stitch, reading simple patterns, working longer projects, maintaining consistent width, and fringe finishing (optional). Along with newly learned crochet skills, students will leave with a stylish accessory you’ll love wearing. Be sure to read the required materials list below.

Skill Level/Age Range:  Beginner/ 8+

Student Instructions:  Bring your own yarn and crochet kit (see below).

Materials Needed:  Students must bring their own: size I crochet hook, small scissors, yarn needle, yarn, supply bag, stitch markers (optional), and notebook for note taking.

Yarn Requirements by Project: (Choose one)

Infinity Cowl (8" × 28"):

• Amount: 350-400 yards

• Weight: Worsted Weight (4) or DK Weight (3)

• Skeins needed: 1-2 skeins, depending on brand

Long Scarf (8" × 60"):

• Amount: 750-850 yards

• Weight: Worsted Weight (4) or DK Weight (3)

• Skeins needed: 2-3 skeins, depending on brand

Short Cowl (10" × 24"):

• Amount: 400-450 yards

• Weight: Worsted Weight (4) or DK Weight (3)

• Skeins needed: 1-2 skeins, depending on brand
