Round Reed Basket Weaving

What You'll Learn: This is a beginner-friendly Basket Weaving Workshop led by heritage fiber artist Michelle Andrus. In this class, you’ll learn the fundamental techniques of basket construction and weaving using prepared round reed. Throughout the workshop, participants will receive step-by-step instruction, live demonstrations, and helpful weaving tips. You’ll learn how to shape your basket, add color and embellishments, and by the end of class, you’ll go home with a beautiful small-to-medium sized basket—handmade by you! All participants will receive a complimentary goodie-bag filled with extra reed and a written instruction guide to encourage continued weaving at home.

This is a welcoming, no-pressure class designed for all experience levels. If you’ve ever wanted to try your hand at basket weaving, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to learn a timeless craft in a fun, relaxed, and creative environment.
